What To Do After An Accident

Step 1
Minimize your risk and move your vehicle to a safer nearby location to avoid oncoming traffic. Turn on your hazard lights.
Step 2
Check driver and passengers for potential injuries. Do not move an injured person unless absolutely necessary.
Step 3
Call the police immediately and request medical assistance if necessary.
Step 4
Exchange insurance and contact information with all parties involved in the accident.
Step 5
Take as many pictures necessary of the accident scene, including damages to your vehicle and other vehicles. Collect any evidence related to the accident, such as traffic signs or lights not working, or hazardous road conditions, etc.
Step 6
Get contact information from all witnesses, such as name, number, address, and picture of the witness.
Step 7
Request transportation to the nearest hospital, if necessary.
Step 8
Call Q Factor Chiropractic immediately to setup your initial consultation to assess all injuries and to start your road to recovery.

X-Rays

X-rays are a form of electromagnetic radiation, just like light waves and radio waves. Because X-rays have higher energy than light waves, they can pass through the body. X-rays were first discovered over 100 years ago and were quickly applied to medical diagnostic use. Today x-rays remain a valuable tool in diagnosis and treatment of many injuries and diseases.

Chiropractors take x-rays to reveal the internal structure and alignment of the spine. We are also concerned about underlying disease processes and disorders of the spine such as spinal deterioration, arthritis of the spine, abnormal development, bone spurs, disc disorders, tumors and spinal curvature. X-rays also provide a blueprint for correcting the spine back to optimal health and alignment.

These are a few things to look for to determine if your spine is NORMAL or healthy:

  • Healthy Disc Spacing
  • Healthy cervical, thoracic, and lumbar curves
  • Smooth Vertebral Edges

These are a few things to look for to determine if your spine is ABNORMAL or unhealthy:

  • Narrow Decayed Disc Spacing
  • Abnormal cervical, thoracic, and lumbar curves
  • Unhealthy arthritic bone spurs

There’s a reason your neck, mid back, or low back is in pain. Most likely it’s due to your spine not being properly aligned in its normal position. This can be due to decay, arthritis, or injury.

If You've Been Involved In An Accident

If you have been involved in a car accident your injuries need to be taken very seriously. It is easy to be fooled into thinking that you are not as seriously injured as you really are, as symptoms of a car accident may take days or weeks to manifest. Injuries from a car accident can include pain in the head, neck, mid back, low back, shoulder, elbow pain, wrist, hand, knee, ankle, and foot.

You can suffer from all of these symptoms at one time or just a few of them. Either way, it is recommended to seek professional Chiropractic care immediately if you suffer from any of them. Don't wait!

Whiplash

Whiplash is another common injury as a result of trauma to the head. What is whiplash? It is a muscle pain in the neck area. Here is a list of the whiplash symptoms:

  • Headaches
  • Blurry vision
  • Ringing of the ears
  • Memory loss or disorientation
  • Dizziness
  • Fatigue
  • Nausea
  • Weakness of Arms
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Irritability
  • Numbness and Tingling
  • Tingling in arms and shoulders or down into the hands
